Sales Blog

This new revolutionary best practice tool is being used by successful sales organizations to promote collaboration and learning amongst their sales teams.
Using this approach to communicating information to sales team and having them share personal experiences is far more effective than the traditional "collateral" dump that usually comes from the product and sales management teams. You also get the added benefit of having the information on a platform where reps can go back and look at previous conversations when they personally encounter an issue with a customer.

Categories
A first cut at some of the categories might look like the ones listed below, but the system has the flexibility to add categories and creating sub-categories in the admin module. Sample starting categories to include:
  • Answering objections
  • Prospect management
  • Product news form product management
  • Sales administration policies
Blog Features
  • Site search for finding keywords in blogs
  • Month list for posts categorized by month
  • Newsletter option sends email to user when new post made. Like subscribing to the blog.
  • Ability to rate blogs posts for quality and value. This shows future users what value the previous readers found in a post.
  • A blogroll is a section of the site that automatically retrieves the latest posts from each blog and displays the title of the new post beneath the blog name. These can be internal blogs or syndication of content from public blogs.
Authors/administrators
  • You have the ability to classify users into the roles they are allowed to play. For example, maybe only a selected number of users are able to write a blog and everyone is allowed to comment.
  • The administrator is usually allowed to approve (publish) blog posts and comments, or it can be set as an open system.
Authentication/Security
  • The information in this blog is very important to your business so security is important. The system uses Microsoft Membership service to authenticate users. This can be architected to allow the users to seamlessly sign-on once they are part of your local network or done separately through a different user name and password.
