client process

At ADS we work closely with the client throughout the entire web strategy, development and design process to ensure your website is optimized for your purposes. Below are some things to think about in terms of your website that would be helpful for our first meeting together.

Step 1: Select a domain name to represent your Website
Step 2: Identify your goals
Step 3: Identify what your visitor’s expectations will be

Step 1: Selecting a Domain Name
Selecting a domain name is a very important step in securing an on-line presence. Many of the common and not so common words have already been reserved. If the name you want has been reserved, don’t panic! We can help you choose a creative alternative that best represents your company. If possible, choose something that can be pronounced in one or two syllables. Once you decide on a domain name ADS will reserve it for you. Remember, you don’t need to choose just one. You can configure as many domain names as you like to bring visitors to your Website.

Step 2: Identify Your Goals

In order to properly design a Website, it is necessary to know why it is being created and why people will visit it. Taking the time to carefully think about the following questions will help us create a website that supports your company’s goals and your customers’ needs. The questions below are designed to start the thought process and help you focus on the results you want to achieve from your Website.

  • What is the primary purpose of your Website? What kind of results are you looking for?
  • Is your goal to sell a specific product or service, generate floor traffic, communicate with investors and shareholders, provide general information, or support products that you have already sold?
  • If you could communicate only one idea to your Web site visitors, what would it be?
  • How are you going to measure the success of your Web site? (Increase in sales, increase in leads, number of visitors to the Website?)

Step 3: Identify what your visitor’s expectations of the Web site will be

Your goals are only half of the equation. Your Website visitors are the other half. Successful Websites are built around the needs of their visitors. Remember: you’re not creating a Website for yourself, you’re creating it to satisfy your visitors’ needs. The questions below are designed to start the thought process and help you predict your visitors’ expectations.

  • Whom do you want to visit your Website?
  • What types of information are they looking for?
  • What types of information can you provide?
  • What type of image do you want to project? Affordable or upscale? Youthful or conservative.
  • What type of functionality would you like to include in your Website (e.g., download areas, database-driven web pages, e-commerce, catalog, applications, etc.)?
